Built with

Test your receptionist before going live to confirm it handles calls as expected. Reception AI provides two testing methods: browser-based and live phone calls.

Browser-based testing

Test your receptionist directly from the dashboard without making an actual phone call. A voice dialog opens in your browser — speak naturally as if you were a customer calling in.

Phone call testing

For a full end-to-end test, call your assigned phone number from any phone. This tests the complete experience including phone line quality, call pickup time, transfer rules, and staff-first routing.

What to test

Basic greeting

Call in and verify the first message sounds natural and includes your business name.

Appointment booking

Ask to book an appointment. Verify the receptionist offers correct services, available times, and confirms the booking.

Business questions

Ask about hours, location, pricing, or services. Verify answers match your actual business information.

Language switching

If you support multiple languages, try speaking in a different language and verify the receptionist switches correctly.

Edge cases

Try asking something unusual or outside your business scope. Verify the receptionist handles it gracefully (takes a message, offers to connect you with someone, etc.).

Transfer rules

Trigger a transfer rule and verify the call routes to the correct number.

After each test, check your Conversations page to review the full transcript and see how the receptionist handled the call.
