We're doubling down on UK’s capital as center for worldwide operations
We just opened a new office in London, making it our European HQ and center for worldwide operations. London is the perfect place for our next phase of growth, with the capital combining cultural diversity, access to talent and innovation, as well as proximity to other tech hubs.
London and the UK have been a key part of our story since the inception in 2022. Our co-founders, Mati Staniszewski and Piotr Dabkowski, attended UK universities and started their careers in the capital before launching the company. London has become our largest employee hub, with over 20 people already based there and we expect this to grow to over 100.
With more than 300 languages spoken across London, combined with the capital’s status as a hub for cutting-edge AI research and deep pool of technical talent, the city will provide an ideal base for ElevenLabs to further our mission to break down the language and accessibility barriers of digital content.
ElevenLabs remains a remote-first, global company with talent spread across over 15 countries throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. Recognizing that top AI research talent can come from anywhere, the company welcomes team members from any location. We're opening physical hubs for those who prefer to work in person, starting with the London office, soon to be followed by new spaces set to open in New York and Warsaw.
Mati Staniszewski, CEO and co-founder of ElevenLabs, said:
We can't think of a better place to open our central hub. My co-founder Piotr and I came to the UK to study over 10 years ago, and we're continuously inspired by the people and the plethora of opportunities available. From AI safety to AI innovation, we're excited to contribute to this vibrant ecosystem. As we build an international team spanning many countries, we're happy to find a location that reflects our company's culture while staying globally well-connected.
The new office, located on Wardour Street, will accommodate our 20 current London-based team members, with plans to expand this to 40 within the next 6 months and 100 within the coming years.
In addition to hosting our team, we're also opening an incubator-style space in the building for London-based startups and creatives that are incorporating AI audio into their work. Startups can apply for ElevenLabs credits, free office space, and access to community events here.
We've been engaging with London & Partners, the business and destination agency for the capital, to foster inclusive, sustainable growth of the business in Europe and engage with the thriving AI community based in London.
According to London & Partners data, over three-quarters (77%) of international business leaders say London is the most supportive hub for developing AI compared to other major AI hubs. Nearly half (45%) cited supportive government incentives & policies tailored for AI development as London’s key advantage.
Janet Coyle CBE, Managing Director of Grow London at London & Partners, said:
The fact that we have incredibly innovative companies like ElevenLabs choosing London for its European headquarters is not only a testament to the city’s thriving ecosystem but also to our solid AI credentials. Our research shows that over three-quarters (77%) of decision makers at international AI companies consider London to be more supportive of AI development than other major AI hubs. We’re thrilled to have ElevenLabs join us here and play an important part in developing the technology of tomorrow.
If you'd like to join our growing team on our mission to break down communication barriers with AI Audio, explore our open roles here. Stay tuned for an announcement regarding our opening of a new hub and investment in Poland - where both our founders are from and the idea for the company originated - to bring on more incredible talent from another thriving tech ecosystem. We couldn’t be more excited to build the company from and in Europe as we pursue our global mission of breaking down language barriers.
