InteGREATer e.V. expands access to education with support from the Impact Program

Established in 2010 by former first-generation university students, InteGREATer e.V. turns lived experience into mentorship for the next generation. Today, over 300 volunteer mentors donate their time to support students from academically and socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds in 18 cities across Germany.

Through our Impact Program, we provide our technology at no cost to support their work and help them reach more students nationwide.

Breaking cycles of educational inequality

Each year, InteGREATer reaches more than 6,000 students in grades 7-12. Since its founding, it has impacted an estimated 50,000 young people across Germany.

Its approach is practical: provide relatable role models, structured mentoring, and clear educational orientation. By sharing authentic stories from individuals who have navigated similar challenges, InteGREATer helps students see that higher education and professional careers are achievable - regardless of social background.

Making role-model stories accessible nationwide

To extend its reach beyond in-person sessions, InteGREATer creates short podcast nuggets with ElevenLabs, based on personal success stories from its community.

Since launching the format three weeks ago, the team has published six episodes and produced more than 30 additional stories scheduled for release. The podcast is already attracting interest from well-known public figures and companies across Germany who want to contribute their own stories.

These audio stories are used in schools and shared digitally, allowing more pupils to connect with role models who reflect their own experiences. This format increases the reach and sustainability of InteGREATer’s work while strengthening identification and motivation among students who previously felt unseen.

Scaling impact across Germany

Looking ahead, InteGREATer aims to expand its audio-based educational content nationwide and make inspiring role-model stories accessible to even more children, independent of location or background.

By combining a nationwide volunteer network with scalable technology, InteGREATer is building a long-term model to strengthen educational equity, self-belief, and opportunity across Germany.
