Impact Program

On a mission to empower one million voices.

Through the Impact Program, we democratize access to ElevenLabs technology for those who need it most, offering free licenses that support healthcare, education, culture, and beyond. We provide free licenses to people over 18 affected by conditions resulting in permanent voice loss such as MND/ALS, PSP, MS, stroke, mouth or throat cancer, Tay-Sachs, and Sandhoff Disease.

Free licenses for individuals with accessibility needs

In August 2024, ElevenLabs launched an initiative to provide free licenses to people with permanent voice loss. What began with support for Motor Neuron Disease (MND)/Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) patients, has now expanded to include anyone over 18 affected by conditions such as Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), stroke, mouth or throat cancer, laryngectomy, Tay-Sachs, and Sandhoff Disease. Through partnerships with AAC device companies and new efforts to serve blind and low-vision communities, we are working toward our goal of providing free licenses to one million people worldwide.

Breaking barriers in accessibility

When U.S. Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton began losing her voice due to Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), it seemed like the end of her ability to communicate in her own words. The standard robotic voice wasn’t just limiting—it felt like a loss of identity. But with ElevenLabs' technology, everything changed. By recreating her voice as it sounded before her diagnosis, Congresswoman Wexton became the first lawmaker to deliver a House floor speech powered by AI, proving that even at the top of their field, people can overcome incredible challenges with the right tools.

‘Motor neurone disease left me without a voice but AI gave it back’ | BBC News

At just 34, motor neuron disease (MND) left Sarah without a voice and the use of her hands. The diagnosis came only months after she became a mother for the second time. As her children, Aviva and Eric, grew up, they only ever heard her speak through a machine that produced a flat, robotic voice. Now, 25 years later, ElevenLabs has recreated Sarah’s natural voice—using only eight seconds of audio pulled from an old VHS tape. Today, Sarah communicates using eye-gaze technology, which tracks her eye movements as she selects letters on a screen in front of her.
