An ElevenLabs Grant helped ThisGen develop lifelike caller voices. These include different ages, genders, accents, and emotions. “The grant gave us the tools to build a platform that reflects the real challenges and diversity of emergency response,” says Zak Randall, CEO of ThisGen.

Many dispatch centers in the U.S. are understaffed, with vacancy rates over 25%. Training new staff quickly is critical. ThisGen’s platform makes it easier with realistic simulations — centers can try the technology, see its value, and start improving training immediately.

In just a few months, over one hundred dispatch centers have used the realistic training simulations, with growing interest from emergency response teams across the country. Its realistic scenarios have helped them build trust and a growing community. And Emergency Communications Centers (ECCs) are using it for more than just new hires — finding it invaluable for on-the-job training, remedial training, and keeping the full team prepared on high stakes, less frequent situations. ThisGen is also expanding the platform with features like multi-participant calls and background noise, to make training more immersive.
