Behind the Build: How EA Directs AI Voices That Sound Like Game Day
Emotion is the hardest thing to get out of an AI voice, and few things test it like sports commentary. Every line has to react to the moment, build with the game, and land with an audience that knows exactly what game day sounds like. In this live session for media and creative teams, Tommie Hicks (EA Sports Audio Producer), Kam Dyer (Madden Commentary Writer), and David Pritchett (NHL Principal Game Designer) join ElevenLabs Audio Engineer Mark Seidl to show how they direct ElevenLabs AI voices the way they'd direct talent. They'll take real lines from first read to full performance in the voices of Mike Tirico, Kate Scott, and Scott Hanson. What we'll cover: - How to get a real performance out of an AI voice - Using voice creation and audio tags to control delivery live on real lines - What it takes to ship AI dialogue at game scale, from pipeline to iteration to re-records
