ElevenLabs Prohibited Use Policy

Last Updated: 09 October 2026

ElevenLabs is an AI company that builds voice and audio technology to help people and businesses communicate and create. We expect everyone to use our Services responsibly, lawfully, and with respect for the rights, safety, and dignity of others.

This Policy applies to everyone who accesses or uses any ElevenLabs Service (including products or services accessed through such Service), whether directly, through an authorized reseller, or through a product or application built with our technology. It covers what you submit to our Services ("Input"), what you create with them ("Output"), and how you use our Services, Input, or Output. Input and Output include audio, voice samples, text, images, video, music, and any other content or data, and have the meanings given in your agreement with us. This Policy applies wherever our Services are made available to you, including under any offline, on-device, or on-premises arrangement we agree with you in writing.

Attempting to violate this Policy is itself a violation, whether or not the attempt succeeds. The categories and examples below are not exhaustive, and some uses of our Services may present heightened legal, regulatory, or safety risks even where this Policy does not expressly address them. Where reasonably necessary, we may require prior approval or additional safeguards for such uses, or restrict them.

Prohibited uses

Unauthorized Government Use

If you are a Government Entity that would like to use our Services, or would like to make our Services available to one, you need our prior written approval. Any approval is limited to the Services and uses we specify.

For this Policy, a "Government Entity" includes governments and public authorities at any level, including law enforcement, prosecutorial, judicial, and other justice bodies and courts; supranational, international, or intergovernmental organizations; and organizations that are wholly or partly owned or controlled by a government and that perform public functions, anywhere in the world

Reporting

If you believe content or activity on our Services violates this Policy, you can report it here.

If you believe your voice has been used without your consent, you can submit an Unauthorized Use of Voice report here.

Enforcement and Appeals

We review potential violations in context, including the purpose of the content, the surrounding circumstances, and other relevant factors.

If you violate this Policy, repeatedly try to circumvent it, or use our Services in ways that create a risk of harm, we may take action. This may include removing content, restricting, suspending, or terminating access to our Services, or taking other appropriate measures.

If you believe we made an enforcement decision in error, you can appeal by contacting us here. We will also explain how to appeal when we notify you of an enforcement action.

We may preserve, disclose, or report information to law enforcement, regulators, or other competent authorities where required by law, or where we believe it is necessary to prevent or respond to a serious risk of offline harm.

Updates to this Policy

We may update this Policy as our Services, technology, and the risks we address evolve. You can check the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Policy to see when it last changed.
