Eleven Music: new tools for exploring, editing and producing music with AI

Since launching Eleven Music, our community has created more than 8 million songs. The scale and variety of music being produced has shaped how we continue to build the platform.

We are introducing a set of updates that expand what creators and developers can build with Eleven Music. Our goal is to make music generation, editing, and production as flexible as possible, yet fully accessible to anyone working with audio.

Explore

A new way to discover, remix and reprompt your perfect composition:

• Browse songs that are publicly available under the same licensing terms as the rest of ElevenLabs Music. All tracks are ready to use in film, advertising, and other commercial projects.
• Get a head start by remixing pre-tested prompts, or fork tracks and edit them directly in our music studio.
• Search and filter by genre, mood, and performance signals such as Trending or Newest to quickly find the right track for your project.

Music Inpainting API

The Inpainting API gives developers fine-grained control over how music is generated and edited. It builds on our generative audio models and allows users to modify specific sections of a track, extend or trim passages, change lyrics, create loops, or transform the style and structure of a composition.

Using a single API, developers can:

• Replace or regenerate sections of a track
• Modify lyrics or short phrases
• Extend or shorten music
• Create seamless loops
• Generate short samples or effects
• Remix or transform songs across styles and moods
• Rework entire compositions

The goal is to bring flexibility into an API that allows programmatic control over every part of a song.

Stems separation

We have also released stem separation in the UI. Users can now split songs into:

• 2 stems: vocals and instrumental
• 4 stems: vocals, drums, bass, and others
• 6 stems for more detailed control

This is a paid feature, priced at 0.5× generation cost for 2 stems and 1× generation cost for 4 stems. When downloading a song, you have the option to get the full song, the vocals and instrumentals, or the stems.

Improved lyrics generation

We improved our lyric generation pipeline to produce text that is clearer, more coherent, and aligned with the intended style and structure of the song. These changes improve both standalone lyric generation and workflows that rely on inpainting, remixing, or extending existing songs.

UI improvements

We introduced several updates to make editing and navigation easier:

• Words currently being played are now highlighted in real time
• Users can regenerate specific sections instead of re-rendering the full track
• Improved history visibility for faster iteration

These changes make it easier to experiment, adjust, and refine compositions directly in the UI.

Song timestamps

We now return precise timestamps for every lyric in the composition. This enables tighter synchronization with video, animations, captions, and any workflow that requires accurate alignment between words and audio.
