# File uploads

Upload files to give your receptionist access to information that isn't on your website — internal policies, detailed service guides, product catalogs, and more.

## Supported file types

* PDF files
* Text documents
* Word documents

Once processed, the content is chunked, indexed, and searchable by your receptionist during calls.

## When to use file uploads

File uploads work well for:

* **Internal policies** — Cancellation rules, refund terms, privacy policies
* **Detailed service guides** — Step-by-step preparation instructions for clients
* **Product catalogs** — Specifications and availability not on your website
* **Training materials** — Scripts and talking points for common scenarios

Large files take longer to process. Your plan tier determines how many knowledge sources you can
add.
