# How are payouts calculated?

**Direct Sales**

For direct purchases, ElevenReader Publishing pays authors **60% of the revenue collected**, after deducting store fees, in accordance with our standard publishing agreement.

* Apple App Store and Google Play Store fees are typically **30%** of the in-app purchase price
* Web purchases are subject to an approximately **3% Stripe processing fee**
* Tax withholdings may apply depending on your country of residence

**Subscription Listening**

For books included in the Ultra subscription, authors earn **\$0.20 per hour of verified listening streamed, with a cap of \$2.50 per listener per book**. Once a listener has generated \$2.50 for a book, their further listening to that book doesn't earn more.

Only listening by paid subscribers counts toward payouts. Listening during free trials doesn't count. The listening hours shown in your publishing dashboard also include listening that isn't eligible for payouts, so they can be higher than the hours your payout is based on.
