# Update target segment

PATCH https://api.elevenlabs.io/v1/dubbing/project/{project_id}/language/{language_id}/transcript/segment/{segment_id}
Content-Type: application/json

Enterprise only. Edit a segment's translation for a language target. Omitted fields are left unchanged; an explicit null clears the field. Bumps the target's `revision` and marks it `stale` if it had already completed. The source transcript and the project's other languages are untouched, and no audio changes until you regenerate the target.

### Path parameters

- `project_id` (string, required) — Identifier of the dubbing project.
- `language_id` (string, required) — Identifier of the language target.
- `segment_id` (string, required) — Identifier of the segment to edit.

This endpoint expects a DubbingTargetSegmentUpdateRequest.

- `translation` (string, optional, nullable) — New translated text, or null to mark the segment for re-translation.

- `segment` (DubbingTargetTranscriptSegment, required) — The target segment in its updated state.
- `revision` (integer, required) — The target's revision after this edit.

## Types

### DubbingTargetTranscriptSegment

One segment of a target transcript: a source segment plus its translation.

- `id` (string, required) — Stable identifier of the segment (from the source).
- `speaker_id` (string, required) — Identifier of the segment's speaker.
- `start_s` (double, required) — Start time of the segment, in seconds.
- `end_s` (double, required) — End time of the segment, in seconds.
- `source_text` (string, required) — The source-language text of the segment.
- `translation` (string, optional, nullable) — The translated text, or null if not translated yet (needs translation).
